Some of the cottages at Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort

Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort, New Braunfels’ premier destination  cottage and RV resort and the ideal place to provide travelers to New Braunfels a home away from home, got some great press recently from the Herald-Zeitung, the newspaper in New Braunfels. Here’s what the newspaper had to say about this award-wining resort:

The Details

Guests at Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort will soon be able to take a dip into a new outdoor heated swimming pool at the resort on Rueckle Road. In addition, they will be able to enjoy the amenities at a new great lodge — or stay at one of the 18 new rental units.

“Our 3,300-square-foot lodge will have flat-screen TVs, couches, kitchen area, serving bar and arcade area,” said Bryan Kastleman, one of the partners who own the resort.

The custom-built cottages include amenities such as a full-sized refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher and Southern yellow pine interior in as little as 400 square feet. The cottages also include a front porch and barbecue grill.

Smaller duplex cottages accommodate two people on each side. At 200 square feet on each side, the cottages also include a mini kitchen, flat-screen TV and breakfast table.

“You can’t get this in a hotel room for this rate,” Kastleman said.

Off-season rates begin at $65 per night Sundays through Wednesdays. Summer season rates, beginning May 1, start at $85 per night Sundays through Wednesdays. Weekly and monthly rates also are available.

Cottages vary in size and can accommodate between two and 10 people. Larger cottages, between 700 to 800 square feet, sleep eight adults. The Colorado, at 1,300 square feet, sleeps 10 people.

“We serve a lot of Winter Texans, and we are also a great resort for families who want to stay at a place where they can do things,” he said.

Resort amenities include renovated indoor heated pools and spas, saunas, a fitness center, playground with jumping pillow and pad, a pet park and the upcoming new lodge.

The resort currently offers 83 rental units. The facility is planning to add 15 new RV pads, measuring 40 feet by 80 feet each.

“We call those super sites,” Kastleman said.

Currently, more than 250 RV sites are offered at the 32-acre resort. All site rentals include free Wi-Fi, cable TV and water. Daily and weekly rates include electricity and water. Monthly rates also are available. Daily rates begin at $44.

Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort is at 131 S. Rueckle Road.
