The drought has affected many Texans, from farmers raising cattle and crops to homeowners trying to maintain their backyards. The citizens of Bastrop, located west of Austin, have gone through an especially hard time after the forest fires that burned through 34,000 acres. Almost 1600 people lost their homes and belongings to the fires, and New Braunfels is supporting them in a big way tomorrow night.
If you’re staying with us or will be visiting the area, the Red Rooster Cafe will host a Bastrop Fire Benefit from 5 to 10 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday October 15. The dinner buffet is $13.99 for adults and $6.99 for kids and these proceeds will all go to victims of the fire.
There will also be live music, dancing and door prizes so bring the whole family out to have some fun and most importantly, support a good cause. Click here for more information and be sure to make your reservation at Hill Country RV Resort and Cottage Rentals.
