Texas Rough Riders at HCRV

Posted on: June 9th, 2012 by admin No Comments

Last Sunday night Hill Country RV Resort & Cottage Rentals was proud to host four men from the Texas Rough Riders horseback group. They stopped and rested on their way to San Antonio and settled in one of our campsites for a very well deserved rest.

This group was not our ordinary set of visitors. They set out on a 340 mile benefit horseback ride from Waxahachie to San Antonio to raise money and awareness for the Texas Wounded Warriors Foundation.

Their journey started at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County on May 6 and the group stopped at various Cowboy Churches on the way to take donations for the cause. They made it to San Antonio as planned on June 6 and raised $1700, which they were able to hand deliver to the Foundation at the San Antonio Military Medical Center on arrival Wednesday.

We were happy to meet them and they posted about what a great visit they had at our park. Go to their website for more information on the organization, photos and updates posted throughout their journey.

And visit our website to see why Hill Country RV Resort & Cottage Rentals is the perfect place to stop and take a rest, have some fun and make some new friends.

Beat the heat on The Falls

Posted on: August 6th, 2011 by Bryan No Comments

On the hottest week of the year, the new rides at Schlitterbahn couldn’t have opened at a better time. As we posted earlier, a new kids’ play area and large heated pool are already open, but the long awaited tube ride The Falls is now officially open.

The Falls has been under planning and construction for years and is now the world’s longest waterpark ride. Guests can get on the ride at various points throughout the three waterparks in Schlitterbahn, meaning no lines and easy transportation to other parks without walking on the hot pavement.

The Falls seems like a very long and lazy river, but as soon as guests get comfortable in their tubes, they’re jostled through whitewater rapids or sent down a small waterfall. View local Austin news coverage of the ride below for a virtual experience.

Come beat the heat and experience Schlitterbahn’s new rides in person, only a short drive from Hill Country RV Resort & Cottage Rentals in New Braunfels. We have two indoor pools and a recreation center to cool our guests down when they’re not braving the waves at the waterpark.

New Schlitterbahn attractions open

The new kids’ area and hot tub Boogie Bay and the Deluge whirpool river are now finished and open to visitors at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. The kids’ area has many places for little ones to splash in the water as well as exciting body slides and the Dragon water slide for kids only.

And construction on huge water ride The Falls is almost complete and testing has already begun, so the ride should open fairly soon.

Check out Schlitterbahn’s blog here for more details and construction pictures. We’ll keep updating you on the additions and hopefully The Falls will be done before the end of summer, which as we know in Texas will last even longer than the kids’ summer vacation.

If you come to New Braunfels to tube the river or spend a day exploring new rides at Schlitterbahn, stay at Hill Country RV & Resort, only a short distance from these and many other exciting attractions nearby.
